Acolyte Gojun the Rift-Crowned was a young acolyte of Ordo Time Linaris, sent into the depths of Techno City to unravel a case involving a cult of heretics and demon worshippers who offered bloody sacrifices. The city hummed like an overheated reactor, and with the smoke and prayers, rumors crawled through its vents and service tunnels that a new god of curses would soon manifest and wipe the entire planet clean. He followed the trail with stubborn caution, gathering names, marks, fragments of symbols, and fear itself, until the investigation led him to an ancient shrine hidden in the ruins of an old factory, where metal had long since become bone and the darkness smelled of machine oil and ancient blood. There he found a strange artifact, a severed demonic finger, too alive for dead flesh and too alien for this world, and in that very moment the heretics fell upon him as if they had been waiting for him to touch it. Blow after blow they drove him into a corner, and a voice sounded in his mind, calm and hungry, offering power as the only way out, and the young acolyte agreed, because he did not want to die and could not allow the cult to win.
That is the version Acolyte Gojun told the lead investigator when they found him half-dead, with the artifact inside him and demonic power spilling outward so violently that instruments screamed past their limits and the people around him reached for their weapons on instinct. From that moment he became the first and foremost suspect, because Ordo Time Linaris knows too well what truth sounds like when it has been replaced by a convenient confession. His powers proved useful to the department, helping them trace warp-taint, break seals, and see what is hidden from ordinary eyes, and while he causes no direct harm, they use him the way one uses a dangerous tool, gripping the handle and keeping the hand away from the blade. Yet the longer he survives, the more obvious it becomes that something in this story does not add up, as if a greater lie is buried inside it, and so Acolyte Gojun remains more a concealed enemy than a friend, watched by all of Ordo Time Linaris as they wait for the moment when the Rift-Crown demands its true price.
