Brother Starn was not born a hero. In his youth, he was merely the squire of a great warrior-priest, a man who wielded a mighty two-handed hammer and taught his apprentice one simple truth: we do not choose the path laid before us, but we alone decide who we become while walking it. Together with his master, Starn marched through countless campaigns and survived innumerable battles. He witnessed death, famine, and the endless cruelty of war, and with every passing year he became more convinced that such a life was never meant for him. He believed himself too weak, too compassionate, and unworthy to bear the weapons of those who could face horror without fear.

The answer came during a nameless slaughter in the trenches beneath the walls of a colossal hive city. There, the defenders clashed against raiders of the Voidborn Ancients, and for the first time Starn witnessed horrors beyond words. His master fell defending his people to his final breath. In that moment, the young warrior lifted the cracked skull mask of his fallen mentor from the blood-soaked ground and swore an oath that his life would never again belong to himself. On that day, the man called Starn died alongside his old self. All that remained was faith, righteous fury, and an unbreakable resolve to ensure such evil would never be allowed to rise again.

Many years later, his path crossed that of Frierend Wayseer. Despite the ancient hatred he had been taught to hold toward her people, Starn saw in the old seer not an enemy, but another soul devoted to destroying the same ancient darkness. It was she who gave direction to his blind rage, transforming fanaticism into unwavering purpose. Now Brother Starn journeys beside her companions, seeking neither glory nor revenge. He truly believes that war cannot last forever, and if the day comes when peace demands his own life in sacrifice, he will offer it without hesitation. To him, an oath is greater than the fear of death, and faith is stronger than any weapon.
