Artel W presents WarTale — our first venture into creating a tabletop game, where grim science fiction, tactical skirmishes, and the exploration of a dangerous labyrinth come together in one bloody story.

WarTale takes place on the distant planet Varox-IX — a world of colossal city-citadels, scorched seas, ancient aristocratic houses, and endless industrial depths. Beneath the planet’s surface, in the depths of a place known as the Butcher’s Hammer, a mysterious sorcerer and criminal overlord known as the Mastermind created a multi-level laboratory where forbidden science and magic gave birth to an impossible material called Temporite, capable of distorting time and space.

But the experiment spiraled out of control. A magical dome closed around the laboratory, freezing time and transforming the complex into a twisted labyrinth where corridors shift direction, doors lead into alien realities, and past, present, and future bleed together. Trapped inside are the forces of the Protectorate, gangs from the lower tiers, agents of secret orders, outsiders, mutants, cultists, and creatures torn from other worlds by the temporal anomaly.

In WarTale, each player takes on the role of a commander leading a small combat squad sent into the depths of the time-warped laboratory. Your task is to push deeper step by step, revealing new tiles, connecting doors, and facing enemies, traps, events, and the consequences of distorted time. Every route is generated randomly, and every choice can lead either to victory or to a dead end where death is already waiting.

The main objective is to reach three control points as quickly as possible, capture them, and hold them while the opposing team tries to do the same. But the Mastermind’s laboratory is not merely a battlefield. It is a living nightmare, full of dangers, unexpected encounters, and opportunities, where every door can become either a shortcut to your goal or the beginning of a catastrophe.
